Hello, my darlings! Long time no see. Well, that’s how a woman’s life is, one thing or other comes up and we just sometimes prioritize stuff accordingly. Anyways, Miss Zesty recently celebrated her wedding anniversary (Won’t tell you number :P) and things have really changed. It is sure very different when you are a brand new couple than when you have been together for a long time. Now when I say old couples I don’t really mean old people, just the couples who have known each other for a longer period of time.
1. New couples go everywhere together
“Oh! Where are you going?”
“I am going to buy some milk.”
“I will come with you.”
“I am going there”
“Me too! Me Too!”
“I am gonna pee”
“Mee too! Me too!”
Young couples just love going together everywhere. You just want to hang out together all the damn time.
Old Couples Want More Space
“Oh Where are you going?”
“I am going to get some milk”
“Okay, here is the list, get me these things as well.”
“I am gonna pee”
“Don’t you dare pee with the seat down or I am gonna kill you”
Old couples have already passed that phase of feeling the need to be everywhere together. The women might want their time away from the men and the men might want to lie down on the couch, eat, sleep, watch TV and spend their entire life on the couch.
2. Sharing Food is totally different
Young couples just want to share everything. “Here take a bite form my sandwich” “Sweetie try this try mine!
Old Couples: “Can I try your dessert?” All you will get is this eye roll and then a tiny bite of the dessert or none of it at all. We have shared food enough number of times, let me just enjoy my cake.
3. From Wearing Matching Outfits to Stealing Each Other’s Clothes
New couples can be often seen in coordinated clothes, matching patterns or cute tees. Hell, why not! They just want to out there let the world know they are a couple.
Old couples will hardly be seen in coordinated clothes but you can always find out that two people are together when you know that they share the same jacket. Boyfriend jeans or shirt is nothing but a sly trick to wear the most comfortable clothes of your man.
4. Who Puts the Phone Down First?
Oh, C’mon! This was indeed the funnies part of being a new couple.
“You put the phone down”
“No, you put the phone down” “No you”
“I can still hear you breathing”
Old Couples: So this is what generally happens.
Wife: Okay, so you need to do this, or that when you come back. Okay?
Husband: Okay, will do.
Wife calls again: Did you just hang up on me?
Husband: You told me something, I agreed and you didn’t say anything for three seconds, I thought the conversation was over.
They just know that they love each other and staying up on phone isn’t going to prove anything. Love is already there.
5. Sleeping Together Changes As Well
Young couples spoon and can sleep just anywhere, no matter how small the bed is because they are all cuddled up.
Old couples cuddle too, but when they finally want to just sleep peacefully, they need their space, I have even made my husband move to the extreme corner of the bed because I wanted all the space to myself. Or you just don’t care how nicely tucked in you are you just sleep in your most comfortable position.
6. Public Display of Affection
New couples hold hands always… like they would be sitting very close and holding hands.
Old couples are more of buddies, it would be hand on shoulder or back or just being comfortable in one’s own space.
7. Dinner Dates
Young couples focus more on conversations than food while old couples focus all on their super yumm food.
Not that they don’t cherish each other’s company but now they are too comfortable with each other. Only conversation they would have is this, “Hey the food is good here” “I want some more, call the waiter”
