Potato – Cauliflower Peas Sabzi Recipe/ Aloo Gobhi Matar Masala Recipe

Cauliflower is Miss Zesty’s is family vegetable – be it any family event or a Tuesday, Miss Zesty’s mom makes sure that Cauliflower sabzi is made and why not! Everyone loves it so much.

Let us see how to prepare Aloo Gobhi Matar Masala.


  1. Half a kg cauliflower, cut into small or medium sized chunks.
  2. 2-3 medium sized potatoes (diced)
  3. Two tomatoes finely chopped
  4. One cup peas
  5. Fresh coriander leaves
  6. Finely chopped ginger (one inch piece)
  7. Finely chopped Garlic (two cloves)
  8. One tablespoon oil
  9. A pinch of Asafoetida
  10. One teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
  11. Two finely chopped green chilly
  12. One teaspoon turmeric (haldi) powder
  13. One teaspoon coriander powder (Dhaniya)
  14. One teaspoon red chilly powder
  15. One teaspoon Garam Masala
  16. One teaspoon Amchur (dry mango) powder
  17. Salt to taste


  1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. Add asafoetida and cumin seeds.
  3. Once they pop add green chilly, garlic and ginger.
  4. Let it turn golden and then add tomatoes.
  5. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilly powder, salt.
  6. Let the masala roast for five to ten minutes. Masala is done once the oil starts coming out to the corners.
  7.  Now add cauliflower, potatoes and peas. Mix well.
  8. Add one table spoon water and cover the lid.
  9. Let the sabzi prepare on medium flame for fifteen to twenty minutes.
  10. Keep checking and stirring the sabzi if required and add a little water if needed.
  11. Once the  vegetables are tender and the sabzi looks cooked, add garam masala and amchur powder.
  12. Mix well and add fresh coriander leaves.
  13. Serve how with Chapatis, Paranthas or Poori.
